Finally, a use for the Lee powder measure
After getting my fill of the cheap Lee, I bought a RCBS uniflow, MUCH better, untill I bought some CLAYS powder. Is this really powder? Maybe my sniffer is broke but I can't smell it at all, say like H110 or 231. It looks like a seed or spice of some sort.
It won't meter in the uniflow so I tried the Lee and wah-lah it worked like a charm, no leaking & easy flowing, though it would fluxuate .5gr+ or -. So just cause a tool don't work for one tasks does'nt mean it's totally useless. Also I noticed this is sold by 14oz not 1lb, is it because of the bulk? I payed $16.00 (good or bad) for a 14oz jug. It is quite bulky & uses about .5gr less than 231 so it should go a long way. |

I prefer the lyman # 55 powder dump. It fits into the top of my lee powder through case mouth expanding die and gives me .1
grain accuray with infinate micrometer powder settings from .1 grain to 250 grains. I agree, lee makes terrible powder dumps. |

Guys, what REALLY makes the difference is HOW the darn thing is used. Move the handle up, move it down, and do it the same way every time.
FWIW, I own a Harrell with the needle bearings, a tricked-out Uniflow, and two Lee Perfect measures. If I am loading long stick powder, I use the Lees, and they measure out just fine.

Tested my Lee Perfect PM last night with loads of 21grs of 296. Without fail, moving the handle up and down threw 21.5grs. Moving the handle up, down and then tapping twice-threw 21.7. Over and over this was repeated with identical results.
Test scale was a PACT BBK. |
