Oregon firearms background check
I have found out that the feds have nothing to do with Oregon's firearms background check. Oregon State Police does all the investigations, I have been waiting 9 weeks on delay so far for the state to receive court papers from a DWS back in 1979. (WAS TOLD IT COULD TAKE 2,3,4 MONTHS, Should be some sort of time limit) a traffic violation!! that was dropped.
What if the state can not find court papers or they were old and destroyed? WHAT THEN - DELAYED FOREVER? Oregon red flags any arrests (not just guilty) ALL When Oregon is delaying me for a traffic from 1979 something is wrong !!!! I have bought lots of guns in Oregon since then - one just 6 months ago and approved in 15 min. Oregon screwed up 10 times before or they are screwing up now! CALL YOUR STATE REP AND END OREGON STATE POLICE DOING FIREARM BACKGROUND CHECKS (LEAVE IT TO THE FEDS) Last edited by graphic97501; March 6, 2013 at 10:57 PM. |

This is a stunt being pulled in California by Attorney General Kamela Harris, holding up approvals where there is no known disposition of a charge from the dim and distant pass (which really means, more often than not, that the charge was dropped). What is really irritating is that in a number of the cases that have come up so far, a conviction would not be a disqualifying event; the fact that there is no recorded disposition is irrelevant. The real purpose is to delay and discourage gun purchases.

Already under discussion here. Let's keep it in that thread.
