Due to a hollowpoint ban here in Austria and without exotics ( like Cor-Bon BeeSafe or Mullins ESM ) I have to look at fast softpoints as defense ammo.
I know that Evan Marshall thinks that the CCI 125grs. .357 Magnum softpoint is one of the best alternatives for us poor souls who have
to live without hollowpoints, so I guess the same should be true for the .357 Sig too?
With softpoints too little penetration is hardly a concern- but too little expansion and overpenetration is; that's why I think the 9mm+P+ can't deliver high enough velocities to provide good expansion with sp.
Federal's 95grs. cupppoint at .357 Sig velocities would be ideal but I think the bullet isn't available for reloading, so my next choice would be the PMC 115grs. softpoint.
Any ideas or experience??
What do you think- what kind of performance can I expect?
Thanks for any input!!!
