My quiet fraternal twins (Ruger K77/22-VBZ & VMBZ)

I just got my VBZ (.22LR) back today from having the barrel shortened and threaded to match my VMBZ (.22WMR). I'm very excited to shoot the VBZ. The VMBZ has been cool but the VBZ will be much quieter.

I've tried to make them as close to identical as possible:
  • Both barrels have been shortened from 24" to 18" and threaded by Jim Pixley
  • Both wear Leupold scopes (though not the same model)
  • Both have a Power Custom extended titanium magazine release
  • I might buy new rings for one in the future so both have either black or silver

The VBZ is wearing a SilencerCo SS Sparrow, the VMBZ a SWR Spectre II.

Very cool! Both look great. Do you hunt with them or just shoot at the range?

yep... they both look awesome... wish MN didn't outlaw silencers... I'd like to have a couple on my smaller center fires but they are not allowed in MN

In my experience you will find that the Aquilla Super Extra is nearly silent with the can attached. Awesome looking rifles, congrats!

Right now I just shoot at the range. I had hopes of using the .22WMR for coyote hunting this fall but I don't know if I'll have time. And next year I'm moving and starting a new job that will keep me very busy so I don't even know how much range time I'll get.

But for now they are tons of fun at the range.
