20 round ProMags in Beretta 92fs?

A guy wants to trade some 20 round ProMags for standard capacity mags. He wanted to do one for one and has three he wants to trade. I don't really want to trade three of mine off as the 20 rounders are mainly for range grins.
I told him as much and that I would be willing to trade my two for his three. He said that was good, now I'm worried...

Are these ProMags junk and he is just wanting to get rid of em? Mine are an old LE marked CheckMate and and old PB factory one.

Any firsthand experience would be appreciated.

In my experience, the pro mags I have had have been junk. If you want some higher capacity ones, I would look at the MecGar ones. I have 5 or six of those and they all work great.

I bought one for my CZ. It was so bad, the holes didn't even line up with the mag release.

Most Pro mag reviews I seen are junk. Mec-gar makes some of the best for the 92fs. I have some that are 17/18? rounder and they make 20 rounder (extended) But my 17/18 round magazine is nice, has numbers on all holes.

Pro Mags=JUNK! The Glock 19 pro mag I had would not function and unloaded itself at the range when I took it out of the gun, it spit all the ammo out onto the range floor. I would pass on this offer, just tell him you changed your mind.

Agreed. Check out my thread on my P220. It's on this forum. Possibly on this page too.

Promags are complete trash. MecGar or ACT. Factory Beretta isn't bad either.

Bright side of "pro" mags. They're good for drills on clearing malfunctions.

Stick with the factory mags or Mecgar. Also for those who don't know the factory Beretta mags are indeed made by Mecgar, the only difference is the Mecgar mags are glossy and the factory Beretta are matte, also the factory 15rd mags have a polymer magplate that is slightly extended and the Mecgar is a flush metal like you would see on a 7 rounder in a 1911.

I bought two new ProMags for my 92FS from my neighbor for $10. He sold his pistol then found the mags. I figured I’m not out much money if they didn’t work. That was 10 years ago and I’m still using them. They have functioned flawlessly this whole time. While I read a lot of negative reports on ProMags, my experience is positive. Maybe their quality has gone down since 10 years ago? Maybe I’m lucky? With that said, would I make the trade? Nope, not if your mags are working fine.

Dragline, factory mags have not been made by Mecgar in many years. MDS mags them now. They also sell the, same makes, with a slightly thinner baseplate, under the MDS name for a few dollars cheaper. Word is that beretta owns MDS.
