Shot gun reloading data

I have reloaded shotguns and rifles for years. My question is on the shotgun side.
I have been reloading for trap and upland birds and never really thought about reloading steel shot becouse it did not seem economical to me when you can buy pmc. or kent 3" shells for ten or eleven dallors per box.
My dad has a hair brain Idea of loading Kent or PMC 3 " steel shot casings with lead for long range pheasant , dove, or whatever shots.
Does anybody have any data on such a load ?????
Thanks
