problem with brass

I just got back from range and found some strange patterns on the primers.
some are Winchester ,cci 500 and Federal small pistol. The problem is some have blown out at the firing pin hole, some have small buldges at the firing pin location some have normal pin indentions.but most have the bludges at the firing pin location. I am using 5.0 Universal clays powder.I do not no if it a gun problem or too much powder or primers. The gun is a Springfield 1911a1
loaded in 9mm .I just know something is not right. Help anyone .Rick

Cratered or dimpled primers is one of the first signs of excessive pressure. The 9mm is very sensitive to seating depth of the bullet, and a very small change in seating depth can cause some serious pressure spikes with fast burning powders . Stick with one brand of primer at a time and refine your loads with just one variable at a time. Check the overall length of a live round that has been cycled BY HAND through the action of the gun, and measure it to make sure the bullet isn't being pushed deeper into the case by the force of cycling and engaging the rifling. Check the chamber to make sure something isn't causing the bullet to seat deeper. A fast burning powder is very hard to adjust in the 9 because just the cycling of your powder measure can vary the charge by .3 grains. I'd try some different powders such as 800X, Unique, or SR4756 to get some leeway in charge weight. You could have a tight chamber that dictates a lower charge of powder as well.
