Case for a shotgun

Well first off Merry Christmas to everybody.

I was lucky enough to receive a 20 guage Nova pump this Christmas. Now my question is this what case should I buy. I don't think I will be flying any time soon so i was thinking of just getting a hard plastic case and locking it.

The case will also kinda of be a safe as this is the first firearm this family will own and I don't think my parents would buy a 300 dollar gun safe for a gun that will only be in the house for 3-4 years as I am planning of going out of state for college and taking the gun with me.

please advise JAke

I'd just buy a generic hard plastic case making sure it has the holes drilled in it so that it's lockable with a standard padlock. There's no reason to spend big bucks on a case just for keeping it in your room.
