Feature Request: Thread Start Date

A feature I appreciate in other forums is the line under the thread starter stating: "Started by NCTacoma09, July 6th, 2010 08:31 PM". It's available on VBuletin 4.04 and maybe earlier.

I like it because some issues go away with time and allows me to be more selective in the posts I choose to open.

That sounds like a desirable feature. We'll probably implement it when it becomes available.

Came back to this thread to see who found out how to do it (saw it in the middle of a refresh, just now)!

Thanks tyme! That seems to be just the ticket.

Thank you, tyme.

And thanks to OldLincoln for bringing it up. I had no clue about the capability.

What a good idea. Among other things, those ancient threads, pointlessly revived, can't hide any more...

However, things aren't consistent from one forum to another: in the Shotguns forum (at least), instead of giving the date started, that line reads "X days ago." That's not as useful, IMO, as the actual date.

To prevent excess noise, the forum now only displays the extra text if the thread is over 2 weeks old. We'll see how that goes. It might change again.
