Replacement stock for Savage 12 with bull barrel

My Savage has the cheapie factory stock. A replacement would be good, if the accuracy doesn't change. Are there any brands of replacement stocks that are good?

An internet search turned up a company named 'BOYDS'. They have some thumb hole stocks that look good. There is no verbage about bedding in the tech data.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Choate has some interesting options.

Richard's Microfit has some nice stocks if you want to finish one yourself.

What kind of stock?

I think a thumb-hole varmint/target stock with pillar bedding. I found a site that works specifically with Savage stocks and accessories. In searching the internet, it seems that sometimes it is difficult to get a "drop-in fit" without some hassle, for Savage rifles.

Evidently, pillar bedding is not for the novice? I think I will search that topic here in the FL.

Check out Choate, as tINY mentioned. I have two of them
on 10FP's, one in .308 and the other .223. They are a real
improvement over the factory.

stocks

Choate makes the Super sniper and the varmit stocks for the savage that has aluminum bedding blocks in them. I have one of each and like them

Thanks for the advice! Really appreciate your help.

That laminated stock was really pretty. The way I use my guns, a composite stock is probably better. When driving through dry creek beds and 4 wheeling to get more prairie dogs, they can get banged around a bit. I try to keep them stowed but sometimes they get dinged.

Thanks again. I will check out the Choates and the Hogue stock looks good too.
