Sig Sauer 1911's

Anyone have any experience with Sig Sauer 1911's. Have Handled a few at the LGS and really like them.

They are awesome!! I had a SIG 1911 XO and it was the best 1911 I ever owned. I still regret selling it

I have their little Ultra model. Great gun.

IMO, the Sig 1911s are probably the best value in the about $1000 1911 market. Great feature set, great quality, less money than some of the more established 1911 makers.

I don't own one ....although I have several 1911's...but I've shot them in my ranges rental case...and a couple of buddies have them ....and they're holding up very well based on what I see.

They do have a fit issue on holsters...a standard 1911 holster...made for a Wilson, Brown, etc ....will not fit the Sig .

I tried one. Very accurate. Fell apart (literally) right in the middle of a competition.

SIG should stick to making SIGs. They are on their third or fourth generation of trying to make a 1911 better than Colt, who has been making them for a hundred years. Not gonna happen.

I currently own two Colts, and have owned a number more, both 70 and 80 series. None were as refined as my single Sig 1911 Stainless Carry. I much prefer my Sig 1911 to any Colt 1911-styled gun I've ever owned.

IMO, Colt is a storied name that currently turns out a mediocre product.

We live in a tech-multi-media dominated world whereby cameras are almost as common as one's purse or wallet. Point being (that at least for me) when anything of substance occurs even in my (somewhat mundane) life as it is, I whip out my cell-phone and snap or record the event. I sure wish that more of us in the forums would do likewise and post pics of catastrophic failures and the like as they would be extremely useful for all of us (heck, I would borrow someone's at the range if need be and mail it to myself and give the guy a tip for the data usage). I realize that in the heat of the moment it's perhaps not the first thing that comes to mind, but I maintain and equate it to a fender bender or full-blown automobile accident when I wouldn't think twice about taking pics/vids.

Just a suggestion (perhaps) for elucidation purposes going forward.

I retired my MkIV after buying the C3. I will be honest, the fit and finish of mine is perfect. I could not ask for a better 1911 for the money.

If I get another 1911 I think it will be the new "Nightmare" model; maybe even in 357 SIG when it is released.

The only word I've ever gotten about SIG 1911's having problem was a batch with thumb safties that tended to fall off. That was two guys about a year and a half ago; not read or been told of it happing before or since.

Fit and finish seem great, trigger is good, night sights are good
IMO Sig 1911 are good to go.

Current own a TAC PAC version on their 1911. Straight forward base model. Fit and finish is far better than I had expected. Shoots all I can put through it and no issues so far. Understand that there are two 1911 profiles form Sig. Sig profile and Classic profile. Classic of course being what we are all used to and will fit any 1911 holster. Sig profile gives more of the classic Sig look and therefore is difficult to fit a holster properly, needs to be one made just for this model to work. That said, I only pad $725 OTD for my 1911. Best value for the money I have ever spent.

The TACPAC is the version I have also. The laser is a POS but the gun is fine.

I have SIG 1911 XO also...700 flawless rounds. JHP's anf FMJ's...amazing. My best running 1911....yeah..Look at my SIGnature.

Not everyone has or wants a cell phone - I think you're assuming too much as the "...at least for me" comment indicates. I'm interested, however. Once you "whip out" your cell phone and capture the never-to-be-forgotten event - what do you do with the image file? How long do you save these priceless pictures?

To the OP - I have a SIG RCS. It has functioned 100% from the first day I had it and ran 300 rounds through it. Since then, it has never failed to function properly. I use Winchester PDX1 as a carry load and it runs those without hesitation.

The exterior of the gun is finished nicely. My only comment is the internal finishing on the gun is not nearly as nice as some of my other 1911's, BUT they all cost a minimum of 2x what I paid for the RCS.

I have enough confidence in the RCS that it is what I use for concealed carry.
