My thoughts are that for someone like me who has a keen interest in shotguns, it was a treat to read Dave's posts as he was an expert. I learned much about a subject I love from him. As the moderator of this forum, he struck the exact right balance and made it work so well. May God Bless you and your family as he will be missed by all. I'm glad the forum was dedicated to him.

I only knew Dave thru this forum .... but I found him to be even-handed and level headed when minor squabbles came up around here that he had to weigh in on.

I respected his knowledge of shotgunning in general - and his opinions and perspectives on the variety of topics we kick around in the forum.

He had a good sense of humor - and it was pleausre to have known him.

My condolences to your whole family !

I too, only knew Dave from this forum.

The continuous wisdom, courtesy and respect he showed here on TFL can only make one believe that he led his daily life with the same sometimes 'witty', but again, always respectful, professionalism.

Would like to take the time to Thank You, Mrs. McCracken for sharing with us the time you did with Dave.

Our prayers are with you and your family.

I, like many others only knew him through various firearm forums, but that is not to say that he did not leave his mark. I was on another forum when someone started a blatant argument with a few of us, Dave gave us encouragement on not lashing back, but letting him do his job as a moderator. He had the ability to see both sides of an argument and help find a resolve. Dave, you will be missed. My father once told me, "a mans life is not judged by the time he spent or his wealth on this earth, but by the name he earns being honest, fair, and sincere and leaving a mark that is not soon forgotten". Dave, you did that. Rest in peace.

Mrs. McCracken, I hope you can find some peace in knowing his wisdom and mannerisms made our time on these forums a little better. He had love for firearms and humble knowledge that most will never have. Thank you , and I am truly sorry.
