Made Out Like a Bandit

What's up guys?

Just thought I'd share this little experience I just had. I recently picked up a SA XDs .45 from my lgs in order to fill the role of a "pocket" pistol. I will start by saying that this thing shoots like a dream. It's an amazing little gun by all standards, but it just wasn't for me. I currently carry a Kahr T9 and I wasn't shooting nearly good enough with the XDs for it to take the place of my Kahr. Regardless of how I shot it, it is a great gun and I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm from Ohio and I am a member on a bunch of different Ohio Gun - Buy, Sell and Trade pages on facebook. I tend to keep a pretty close eye on these pages because every once in awhile you stumble across a great deal. And I did just that this week.

Someone posted in one of those pages offering up a Springfield 1911 Champion Lightweight Loaded pistol. It is the black/OD Green model, and this thing is sweet looking. I sent him a quick message asking if he'd be interested in trading for my XDs. Turns out, he's been in the market for an XDs for quite awhile and hadn't been able to find one. I quickly offered to make this trade with him and he was all for it. The rest is history.

What do you guys think? Pretty sweet trade, I'd say.

How about the SA 1911? Anyone have any opinion on this pistol?

I would make that trade in a heart beat. Congrats!

SA makes a really nice 1911. hopefully you didnt pay an arm and leg for the XDS. If you didnt then you made a fine trade in my opinion.

I found a pretty good deal on my XDs. If I remember correctly, it was somewhere around $550.00 out the door.

I like stories like this.

As the demand for some guns skyrockets others become 'less valued' and if you watch closely I think you can find some real deals out there. (A Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt in great condition for $300!)

I think you got the good side of your trade too.

It definitely was music to my ears when he said he'd make the trade. I usually don't make any trades, but this one I just couldn't pass up.

I will post some pictures this weekend sometime, but first priority is to shoot it!
