May I suggest you go to www.worldguns.ru/handguns and look in the Russia section for your MP-446. It is an interesting pistol and I sure would like to shoot one.

CF-98
I will recommend u chinese CF-98 pistol.it is much better than that ugly russian MP-446.CF-98 has a saftey/decocker combination.while Viking has only saftey.u suppose to lower the hammer manauly on a loaded chamber.YMMV

Ugly's a subjective term. IMO the Viking is by far a more attractive gun than the CF-98. Besides, what does appearance matter in the face of legendary Izhmash reliability.
Is the GSh-18 an option over too however? Because that would be a fine self-defense gun. It's got that 18-rd capacity that you want, designed to shoot +P+ loads, and weights less than 500g (17.6 ounces). |

Sachal, unfortunately for your hopes of getting thorough reviews of the this gun on this site, the vast majority of the members here are from the USA, where the importing of Russian handguns has been banned for the last 15 years. The MP-446 is too recent a development for any of them to have made it into the country before the ban. Simply put, virtually no one in America has one.
I think it runs contrary to good capitalism, but I have no say in politics or economics. |

Sorry for opening an old thread. Came across it while searching the Russian handguns as I am a great fan of Russian guns and thought that I might be able to contribute something useful.
I own a Viking and found it to be a very reliable, reasonably accurate and extremely durable gun which is capable of shooting any kind of crap that you might feed into it. It is my main self defence gun and I have not experienced even a single stoppage in over 2000 rounds that I have fired from it. Good magazine capacity and rugged looks / finish (not certainly ugly), it is capable of taking lot of abuse and can fire high pressure rounds with no problems whatsoever. Is it available in US now?? Came across this very detailed review on Viking which might help those who are interested in knowing this wonderful gun. http://www.thegunforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=48 |
