Rearming a firing mechanism?
In my country a flintlock can only be imported and sold if the firing mechanism has been de-activated and barrel sealed.
Does anyone know what methods are used to disable the firing mechanism? I know for one that the flint jaw is sealed and welded with some other metal. and I think they seal the pan area as well. My question is it is possible re-drill the barrel and the pan area? Perhaps re-install the cock with a new one capable of holding a flint? Or perhaps Modifying it to hold someother sort of flint, aka wheel-lock style with the mechanism from a gas lighter? |

Its not like I could get gun powder here to fire off the gun anyway... But I would like something that could spark a little..
