Any one here shoot,load .499L-W ?
I do not expect there are that many .499 or .50 cal. shooters around the country yet, but these calibers are rapidly gaining popularity.
I have 4, .499L-Ws, on the AR-15 lowers, they are a real "blast" to shoot, but the ammo is not all that readily available, AND expensive !! so i am reloading the brass, there is scant info on the reloading of these monsters, so taking info from the .50 Beo, which is a smaller case capacity than the .499L-W, i loaded 10 rounds with the Hornady .500 XTP 350 Gr. bullet and 36 grains of Hogdens "Lil-Gun", and CCI Magnum Rifle primer then 10 rounds same bullet & primer only with 40 Gr. "Lil-Gun", i'll test them tomorrow for accuracy and function. if there are any .499 or .50 cal. shooters (not .50 BMG !!) out there are you reloading ? and what bullet, powder, primer combo are you using ? thank you for your interest for the big bores. |
