Can you shoot buckshot out of a rifled barrel?

Yes you can, but the rifling may engage the shot cup and cause poor patterns. Better results with smooth bore.

Rifled slug barrels are for sabot slugs ONLY.
Although you can shoot shot in one, the shot will lead the bore BADLY, and is hell to get out. The rifling "swirls" the shot, and what pattern you do get is in the form of a large donut with a big hole in the middle. Hits on target are pure luck. |
