New to A R

I look at a mossberug but ended up with a Sig 400 with 20 inch match barrel. 1 in 8 twist i put a timmey single stage 3 1/2 pd trigger. I am thinking about reloading either a Hornady 75gr or a Sierra 77gr bthp going to use it on coyotes and maybe feel my doe tag. Is anybody reloading them? I have 50 and 55gr both in v max and nolser bt bullets. And the powder I have on hand is bathetic and imr 8028. Thinking about getting some CFE 223 to try out. Need all the help I can get. Ty Richard

I have had great luck with Reloader 15 with heavier bullets (SMK 69s) in the AR.

I could be wrong because I don't use bullets that big but be careful with some of the larger bullets because they won't fit the magazine, you will have to load them one at a time.

Sorry about words. At work get caught on phone get canned. That was varget powder. Fill my doe tag. New timney trigger drop in. I had to use varmit. Because varmint was taken is that OK!!!!!!! Anyway coyote hunter I have 50 gr and 55 gr v max and nosler bt's bullets on hand. I have 800 55gr nosler BT bullets put back. I didn't know that the 1@8 twist would shoot that lite of a bullet. Some guys at work said I would have to shoot a heavier bullet. Would the 60 gr v max be about the right bullet to try? I was looking at the mid south shooters and mid way bulk pack 55 gr hp for the price. What would be the best powder and gr for 55 gr bullets. Again sorry about the misspelled words for some of ya!!!! Richard

Emotionally insincere powder is a new one on me, too. That aside, the 77 grain Sierra is a stubby shape so that it can be heavy to take advantage of your 8" twist and still fit the magazines. Won't tear up the pelts, either, as it's not prone to expand. The 8208 should do all right with it, but trying others will sometimes get you better precision on the target.

Your 1/8 will shoot the 55gr just fine.

Thank ya I got some sierra 69gr bthp matching given to me. Would they work better than the 77gr. I have 800 nosler 55gr BT on hand. Just need to work up a load and fine the right powder for the 55gr.

They should do well. Better than the 77? Probably similar on accuracy.
