I think they all turned into 1187's. Same basic gun, but a new number.

yeah, i know. the 1187 handles '3 and the 1100 don't. i want an 1100 cause it's cheaper. i think dove hunters cleared out everybody who had one in stock.

The sale 1100s ($328) were gone in a hurry here last year. There was a thread here about them that generated over 100 responses, and a lot of TFL'ers bought them. Some even got them for under $300. I got one of the last Wally World specials in my area. Haven't seen one since. My understanding is that WalMart was discontinuing sales of this gun.
Gun show may be your best bet.

thanks for the info, man that irks me. i've called some wallys and nobody has them anymore. academy, oshman's and galyans no longer have them either. i don't understand it, it's a cheaper alternative to the 1187. doesn't make sense.
the sales clerks are idiots too. one moron tried to tell me if they order me one i'll have to pay MSRP. |

EAP,
There are some 1100's that shoot 3" magnums. I much prefer my 1100 to my 1187, but the 1187 is lighter and has choke tubes and my 1100 doesn't. |

I just checked the Remington website and they still show new ones in the catalog. Try a real gun dealer. Wallys probably just weren't selling as many as they wanted to and dropped it.

Oh, I thought you were asking just about the ones that WalMart used to sell--which were the synthetic stocked, matte finished guns. Sometime last year, WalMart discontinued sale of this version of this 1100, and dropped the price by over $100. Lots of folks bought them. Here's the original (long) thread: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...t=walmart+1100
But if you're looking for a traditional, blued, wooden stocked 1100, they're out there. Try some dealers in your area.

What's wrong with used? Both here and Atlanta have small local papers devoted to buying and selling stuff - sort of a super want ads. I've found many good deals there (and some bad ones ). Pawn shops are fairly good as well. Just have to watch the prices.
