Sig 556 pistol to SBR, attaching a stock?

Well I'll start by saying this is my first post I'm new to the fourm so I'm glad to be part of the community.
Well anyways I digress, so I just got back from a deployment a few months back and I got a bit of extra cash I've been itching to spend on a new rifle/pistol. I have been looking at the Sig Sauer 556 pistol. I am also looking at possibly getting it registered as a SBR. So now to my question, is there anything significant that needs to be done to put a stock on the Sig 556 pistol? Or is it as simple as it would be changing out the stock on a 556 rifle?

Thank you for your time. -CC

Huh? It's funny because I spent a couple hours googling around and couldn't find anything haha, only took a few minutes to get a good reply with a link. Thank you, much appreciated. Glad I decided to make a account here

It seems to be somewhat common practice to take a pistol configuration of a military style rifle, and change it into an SBR by simply adding a stock to it (and registration, of course).

However, don't most military "short rifles" have longer barrels than those typically used on a Sig 556 pistol or KRISS pistol? In other words, would it be better to simply cut and re-crown the barrel of a rifle than to start out with a pistol?
