Pre WW2 Savage 6A 22LR

Hello amigos
Just pushed the buy it now button for $165.00 as I am on a nostalgic 22 kick it seems.
I think she's in pretty good shape for her age!
Made in the Utica NY factory.

I have a J.C. Higgins 101 16 that is similar. I had to replace extractors, springs and shell lifter. It runs pretty good now - doesn't feed well with too many in the tube.

FYI - if you over tighten the forestock screw, it will put a bind on the feed tube and will not allow the rod to insert fully.

Is it a Savage or a Stevens? Model # please!

Nice find!

Thanks!
I read up on the stock screw issue.
It is a Bona fide Savage 6A made in their Utica NY factory
So it's a pre 1946 rifle and the seller claims pre WW2

Also,
I read that the hand checkering on the comb 100% points to pre war production.
