Powder measure problem with Dillon 550?

Just how accurate is the powder measure on the Dillon 550? I set mine to deliver 8.9 grains of Hodgdon HS-6. I dumped several charges and weighed each of them. I was getting readings as low as 8.7 and as high as 9.1. Is the margin of error about + or -.2 grains on these measures or is something amiss?

I'm not familiar with HS-6, what type of grain is it? That might have something to do with it.

The Dillon powder measure was designed to work with ball powder and in my experience (using W296, W748, and TiteGroup) it is very consistent. I have also found that it helps to be smooth and consistent with your handle strokes...(dirty joke thought of, but not entered)....

My Dillon is within 1 grain (ie. +- 0.5 grains). Dillon's measures don't work as well with extruded powders, however they now sell a different powder measure that handles it better.

+/- .5 grain??? I'd be mighty unhappy if my 550B threw even close to that bad! I don't recall seeing more than about a tenth of a grain with ball powders, and I don't use the extruded powders because of measurement problems.
