Barrel wear w/ plated bullet

Are copper-plated bullets (like Berrys, for example)
as easy on the bore as a plain lead bullet?

Thanks.

Thin plated bullets are almost as soft as lead, and are usually loaded with lead bullet data. However, even years of jacketed stuff won't wear out most pistol barrels. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Hot corrosive gasses much harder on barrel than jacketed or plated bullet. Like Poodle Shooter said, not to worry.

When I got my first Blackhawk (in .357mag, circa 1980), my bro & I ran a box & a half of Winchester plated bullets through it (without ear protection, but that's another story). The bullets' plating was much like that found on "copper" .22LR. I soaked & scrubbed that barrel for DAYS on end, thought I'd NEVER get the fouling out of it, darn near gave it up for lost. After probably 50 vigorous scrubdowns, I finally got it all out. The other half box of ammo went in the canal.

West Coast Bullet puts a thick plating on theirs that is almost as thick as a jacketed bullet. I've shot lots of them in .45 and 9mm and haven't had any problems yet.
