Ruger Standard Auto value

I've been talking with a guy who wants to sell a Ruger standard auto (a.k.a. MK I)

It has some bluing wear on the barrel and in front of the trigger guard from being kept in a holster for years, other than that it seems to be in pretty good shape. He wants $185 for it. Its the shorter(4.5"?) tapered barrel and the normal black grips

Is it worth it?

That's a great price. I've seen them for anywhere from $200-300.00 recently.

I just wondered how much the bluing wear would bring the value down on it. But I guess its hard to find a gun that old that doesnt have at least some bluing wear.

Does it have a Red or Black eagle on the grip? Makes a good bit of difference in the value but, if it is the Black Eagle model in 90% is worth $275 and Red Eagle in 90% is worth $350 according to Fjestad's Blue Book. I would already own it if I found it for $185, I am beginning to get a collection of them.

Its a black eagle. I learned there's another guy that he's showing it to tonight so it will probably end up being sold before I get a chance at it oh well there are more fish in the sea...

I was really looking for a Mark II target with a 5.5" bull barrel anyway but I have a hard time passing up a good deal
