Does anybody make custom target grips for the Beretta 87 Target model ?
I know that Beretta advertises a set of right hand wood target grips on their website but they have been out of stock for a very long time now and the stock black plastic grips are okay for plinking but I want a bit larger grip with at least a thumb rest for precision shooting which I feel this semi auto 22 is capable of....thanks !

I put a set of the beretta wood grips (lefty) on an 87 target I got for the wife. I also have a right handed set and they add quite a bit of width to the grips and are actually very nice. If you are still looking for a set I just saw some rightys on gun broker.
The finish on them isn't the greatest though it's just an oil rub although the wood is nice. |

Custom wood grips Beretta 87 Target
Been raining lately , so had some time for a little project.
Wanted wooden grips for my Beretta 87 ,as I don't like plastic. Had been pondering the subject. Was not as hard as I thought. The problem is stopping. After almost every shooting session I tend to shave of a little more here and there. Fits like a glove now. Think I'm almost done now and can polish up and apply last finish. Wood is local (Portugal) walnut .from a dead tree I cut down some 25 years ago and had sawn into 50 mm planks. Finish at this moment is just some hardwood oil.So no dirt gets in on the range After polishing will finish with wax. http://thefiringline.com/forums/atta...ne.com/forums/ attachment.php?attachmentid=87974&stc=1&d=1363290922 |

Nice work on your homemade grips....the Beretta 87 Target left and right hand model wood grips are now available and I got them online not too long ago and have thought about getting an extra pair ! Why they don't just come stock on the 87 Target is beyond me since they are much better fitting for my size hands anyway !

Found them in Germany
Had been looking for grips for mine for quite a while, then found a german company producing semi-customized ergo grips: http://www.formgriffe.de/shpSR.php?s...&p1=255&p2=255
I have ordered today, will keep you posted! |

Promised to get back when I got the grips.. I did.
They look and feel awesome, just look at the ring-eater they have made out of my 87! The grips fit so perfectly that snapping them on was not nearly as easy as I had thought, but after some elbow grease a final 'click' settled the case. Also, I had to replace the stubby rubber at the bottom of the magazine with a makeshift metal clip, in order to make it slip into the grip. This had been announced by the vendor though. Hope your attempts work out. |
