Ruger Vaquero 3.75" barrel info needed
Hi everyone. I am acquiring a Ruger Vaquero, stainless, .45 Long Colt, with the sim ivory grips and a 3.75" (yes, that's correct!) barrel. This is NOT a bird's head style gun, and not a new gun. Looks like it has been fired a little. Anybody got some info - did Ruger make a gun from the factory like this? "Sheriff model" or something? It doesn't appear to have been done by a private shop. I have recently seen another one or two like it on some of the gun auction sites. Also, any recommended light and medium velocity loads for a short barrel like this? I would love to make up a bunch of handloads and put the shorty through the paces. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Ruger Vaquero
Thanks! Much appreciated. Anyone out there with some recommended loads for the short-barreled gun in .45 Long Colt?

You can shoot any 45 lc load you want out of it just like a full size. I'd like to get one for CCW and load it with Speers 250gr gold dot. Have fun thats a cool gun.
