thermal imaging
here is a question, how do you train to beat it? I have heard a company makes a ghilli suit that is undetectable. I have also heard mylar bags and glass deflect your heat image?
I mean if a robbers come to hurt you, and lets say you flee outside behind the bushes, uh oh he can see you with is Thermal camera. Just a weird thought. |

about the only way to beat it is a thermal blanket or a thermal firesuit like they use to put out fires on oil wells and they use for getting close to volcanos

ok, srry to put some of you out.
Lets make another scenario, red dawn is here. The Eastern bloc military is going house to house with their thermal imaging. How do you not get caught and thrown in a camp. I find it a legitimate question. Maybe some of you think it is stupid, but if it is available which it is right now, and your life is at stake, why is it dumb to think the enemy has it and can see you when you think your hid. |

the Red Dawn scenario...
... isn't going to happen... we currently have the world's strongest military, in terms of training, C2, and logistics. Not to mention one of the two biggest nuclear arsenals.
And remember Admiral Yamamoto's caution to Japan about why not to invade the US: "There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." If you want to think about such a scenario, go ahead, but realize that of all the "really bad day" scenarios you might come up with, "Red Dawn" is one of the very least likely. |

IBTL
The cheapest THERMAL gear I have seen is around $10k, nightvision is a different story. Some NVG systems use a thermal intensifier but it is not quite the same as thermal and the range is limited. Theoretically you could defeat it temporarily with mud (didn't you see Arnie do it in Predator?) or as others have said you could line the inside of your jacket with mylar.
As fun as these Red Dawn, Poo Hits the Fan (SHTF), and TEOTWAWKI (my favorite, The End Of The World As We Know It) are they usually don't get a warm welcome from the mods which you will probably see here shortly. Keep it realistic and focused and enjoy

Us simple subjects of the King who owns this fine "kingdom" we know as TFL are required to adhere to many rules both written and unwritten (most are written).
One is along the lines of not making threads about zombie attack, the end of the world as we know it "TEOTWAWKI" and hostile red dawn type invasions... As for thermal imaging... I imagine they see muzzle flash pretty well. Brent |

you can play "Predator"
You can always do an Arnold in "Predator." He rubbed special mud all over to hide from the alien thermal sensor.
What a joke of a question. Sorry but that one was out of the park. So, "some" criminal is going to break in to your place and search for you with a thermal camera or something along those lines? Just don't think so. Police on the other hand. Highly probable.

Robber/burglar scenario: A person with a thermal imaging camera wouldn't need to break into houses to get a lot of money.
Red Dawn scenario: We don't do Red Dawn/SHTF/TEOTWAWKI threads on TFL.
