44 magnum crimp?

To what demensions are you crimping your 44 magnum loads? I am using 240 grain LSWC and a 180 JHP bullets and am shooting them from a Ruger Super Redhawk and a Ruger Super Blackhawk.

Thanks.

I do crimp, so the recoil doesn't start to pull the other bullets out while they're in the cylinder.

This is less necessary with light handloads than with magnum handloads, but I always do it anyway. Consistency is the name of the game for accurate ammo, and I want all the bullets to remain seated to the depth I choose.

I shoot .44 mag from a Blackhawk and Redhawk. I use a fairly heavy crimp. This typically entails turning the crimp die in about 2.5 turns after touching the top. I'm not sure what you mean about dimensions.

OD of the case at the at the case mouth. Right now I have been crimping to .452". They have been shooting fine but I was wondering what everyone else was crimping.

I'm measuring a .449

These rounds are breathtakingly accurate, but I can't say if it's because of the crimp.
