Para-Ordnance Regrets To Inform Of The Passing Of Ted Szabo

It is with a sense of profound sadness that I regret to inform you, the Shooting Public, of the passing of our Co-Founder and President, Ted Szabo. Although we are doing business as usual, in the next few days, Para Canada, Para USA, as well as some of our World Operations Offices will be experiencing a reduction in operational resources to allow Ted's Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Employees to mourn their loss.

We ask you for your understanding through this emotional time.

WHile I feel his "improvements" to the 1911 platofrm were anyhting but, I do mourn the loss of anyone in the firearms field.

I disagree about your comments on the improvements to the 1911. The biggest accomplishment was the first production hi-cap 1911. I'm not wild about the power extractor but I do like their P14 & P13 models as some of the best handling 1911's I've ever used.

A sad loss, indeed. And I mean that seriously. My sympathies to his un-named wife and children.
But, obviously a perceived opportunity to advertise has not been wasted.

Just read over on 1911 forum of the death of Para Ordnance founder and President Ted Szabo.

May God Bless his family and friends, as well as the Para Ordnance company in their time of grief.

Oh wow! I'm so sorry to hear of his passing! His passing is a great loss to the gunning community. I had the opportunity to meet Ted twice at a few gun shows and I have nothing but good to say about him. My 1st 1911 was a Para and that's all I continue to carry. I'll be the 1st one in line to pick up a special commemorative piece if Para decides to build one in honor of his name.

R.I.P. Ted, and thanks for the greatest improvements to ever grace a 1911.
