.445 Sup Mag relaoding dies

I am looking to pick up a 445 Sup Mag. Can you reload these with standard .44 Mag reloading dies and presses. The Case length is much longer at 1.60".
I have seen some info on the web that says yes and some that says no.
Thanks

It depends on if your 44 mag sizing die can resize the 445 super mag to fit the chamber of your gun. A regular press will work just fine. It's been awhile since I loaded any 445 SM. As I remember it, you may find that you end up with a unsized ring just above the rim of your brass when using a 44 mag sizing die which may give you chambering problems. I also think some of it may depend on if you use the Starline bass or form your own cases from the 444 Marlin rifle brass. If the gun you pick up has the 445 SM dies with it, you shouldn't have any resizing issues. Also note that while the 445 SM is a pistol round, you will need to use large rifle primers and not large pistol primers in your loads. With large pistol primers, you may find yourself blowing or badly flatting primers. Good luck with your hand cannon.
