Best break in ammo for Mossberg SPX?
I picked up a Mossberg SPX the other day and have been told to use some heavy 3in. slugs to break it in, what do I use and how many rounds should I put through it before I can switch to reduced recoil defensive loads? Thanks!

Absolute nonsense I have to say. Why experince pain to break in a gun? All you need to do is wear down the parts some to get it a bit smoother- but its not really needed! Buy a case of el cheapo ammo and practice with tha- dont worry about 3 inch slug loads!

I would say 500 to a 1000 high brass duck loads on a saturday afternoon should do the trick. You will know when its broke in.

i second that break in is nonsense. i would throw a few heavy recoiling rounds through it just so you know it doesn't have some weak part that breaks or something. but aside from that, just shoot it how you want to shoot it.
