convert a Rem 597 22M to 17HMR?
I picked up a used Remington 597 in .22 WMR recently. I know the same magazine works for both the magnum .22 shells and .17 HMR. So my question is: what else besides the barrel would need to be changed to convert this gun to a .17 HMR? Thanks in advance for your input...

I don't think anything else need to be changed. I have a .17 HMR CZ and it uses the same mag as the .22 magnum.
Ask your question at www.rimfire.central.com Lot's of expertise there. Regards.
