.45 derringer

I have a .45 black powder derringer and I have lost load info.

Any thoughts on starting powder loads?

Barrel is about 3.5".

Uses percussion caps.

25-30 gr is ok, but 10-15 gr of it will get burned outside the barrel. Makes for a nice display, though. Which is probably alright since you're not exactly shooting at 100 yard gongs so velocity isn't an issue.

I use about 15 to 20 with mine and a patched .440 ball. I can hit a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood with it at 25 yards.

The Doc is out now.
