I want to send my Sig 228 slide in for the K-Kote process by Sig. Seems reasonable at $60, and sounds like a more durable finish. Also need to install night sights on the slide. Which should I do first?

Thank you.

Jeff , K-Kote in my experience is not very durable . It is very rust resitant while it is on the weapon but wears quickly . It will show holster wear as fast or faster than the standard finish . If you want durability try a specialty finish like Roguard . I would buy night sights first . Good Luck , Mike...

Mike, thank you. Robar is nearly in my backyard, so I'll check them out for Roguard. And, we'll go aheaad on the sights first, as you recommend. Probably get the Wilson combat night sights - I want a different color in the front versus the back sight. Thanks.

Jeff,

I've got a Wilson 1996-A2 with Wilson Night Eyes and they are great!

MMC also makes their fully adjustable combat sight with tritium inserts in your choice of front and rear sight color. I am going to try them next - probably on my Officer's size carry gun.
