Black Powder Cartridge?

Anyone loading and shooting BPC? Here are 3 loads I use in my original 1873 Trapdoor Springfield. FFg powder and 1/20 bullets cast on original design.

.45-70-500, .45-70-405, and .45-40-3ball.

These loads are accurate to 300 yards. The 3 ball guard load is a good 75 yard coyote getter.

Liquid Alox.

Bullets are lubed with SPG or venison tallow/beeswax original lube depending on where and what is getting shot at.

I dont shoot over 300 yards with the rifle, as my eyesight isnt good enough for sighting beyond that. But the 500 will still pass through a mule deer at that range, I know for a fact.

Smokeless powder could be a passing fad.
