Suppressors in texas
Hello everyone- I a new to posting on this forum and
wanted to introduce myself, and ask a question. I particiapte on various gun forums around the web and reside in Dallas. My question is: can anyone tell me the steps and requirements to get a suppressor/silencer in Texas. Where, how etc. I would like to protecet my already damaged hearing in the future, just in case I have to fire my pistol before I can get to hearing protection! Thanks for any info you send J.Scott |

Spredfire Arms
Any class III dealer who is worth his or her name will practically hand-hold you through the entire process. They are as invested in having all the legal aspects of the purchase done perfectly as you are.
So really, it starts with a phone call (or in this case, an email). I can suggest no one i would rather do business with than Mr. Steve Ou who owns Spreadfire Arms in (well, near) Austin, TX. Not sure if he posts here, but go over to www.thefiringline.com and look up Spreadfire Arms and tell him what you want. I recommend him without reservation! HTH, C-

From what I understand, its:
1. Cost of Gun (!!$$$!!) 2. Federal Tax fee of $200 Thats it. You maye difficulty going to a public range with it (several local one's here in Houston do not allow silenced weapons). But you could always go off into some woods and have a field day, heck you could play in your back yard assuming you have a good stopping system. |
