Primers on sale at Cabela's

I needed some soft Federal primers, and noticed they are $10 off per thousand (still $28 though). Free shipping for $150 or more through 8/31.

That was going to be my first question. Do they still charge the hazmat?

Yes (of course), it was $20. I had a $20 off coupon fortunately, came in the mail yesterday.

Cool. Sounds like a deal. I would stock up if I were you.

Lucky for me Hi-Tech ammunition is a 20 minute drive from my house and he is sells them for $24/1k picked up. He carries CCI's and Federals. Dan is a great guy to work with.

Wonder if they're on sale in the store? Found some rifle primers in stock there awhile back pretty reasonable, was looking for them for months.

Stopped by the one North of Ft Worth last Wednesday. Powder was on sale--HP38 was $15.99. Primers were as OP stated but they were priced per 100. I guess they would sell you 10 packs or 50 packs at the store?

In store is the same. It's 20% all primers and powders. I picked me up 1000 primers (they have a box of 1000). Don't need powder though, wish I did.

If it's not on sale in the store just tell them the online price at the register. They'll look it up and give you the same deal. If they don't know how to do that, tell them to do it just like a "competitor coupon".

Graf and Sons has/had a really good sale on CCI 500 SPP and Tulammo LPP.
Combining a good sized order of primers with some powder will spread the HazMat quite well.

They're doing it again!

Went to the Ft Worth, TX Cabelas today and scored 3K primers, including 1K of 210M's. Even got a pound of rifle powder that my new boolit seems to play well with. Best part? It was all 20% off. Not great, but considering what we've been dealing with recently I'm pretty happy.

Egads... primers a thousand or 3 at a time? One pound of powder?
I've finally weaned myself of that silly spending.

I buy 'em 10k at a time and 4 or 8 pounds. That's where the savings are!

I know, Sevens, I know. I should have bought another pound of powder. My primer magazine is full and my powder shelf has overflowed to an adjacent shelf. That's maybe 10K primers of five different varieties and about 12-14 lbs of powder, not very impressive for around here but it's a lot for me and I'm tickled to be able to walk into a store and buy them.
I shouldn't have to buy components other than brass and a few pounds of powder for at least five years at the rate I load & shoot.
I used to buy primers 5K @ a time and I forgot that 231 came in 1# cans but times have changed and for me, the game has changed as well. I piddle and dabble with rifles and cast boolits instead of shooting and loading mass quantities of pistol rounds. Reloading was mostly a means to an end back then, nowadays it's a lot more fun and interesting.
