Help with early 870,please
Just purchased (corncobb) style 870 wingmaster 12 ga. pump and was wondering how to remove plug to make it 5 shot instead of 3 shot? Will I need to replace springs or anything else?http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/...s/confused.gif

Disassemble the gun per the owners manual.
If you don't have one, you download one from the Remington site, and they'll send you a printed one free. Basically, open the action about 1/2 way, remove the magazine cap and pull the barrel off. On the inside of the magazine is a steel "Spring-cup" that retains the magazine spring. Use a screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry the cup out, WITHOUT damaging it. WARNING: The magazine spring is LONG and STRONG. Wear safety glasses and try not to allow it to escape. With the spring out, dump the wooden or plastic magazine block rod out, then reassemble the gun. The magazine spring retainer "spring-cup" goes in CUPPED side in. http://www.remington.com/library/dow...rs_manuals.asp |
