O/U 22 - 410

So I've heard an O/U rifle that is a 410 - 22 LR combination. I saw a very old one at an auction, and don't recall the make etc. It seems to me that this combination would be the ideal squirrel gun. Does anyone still make this combination gun?

I have one, mines a Stevens savage started branding them in the 50s sometime made them in all sorts of calibers I'll dig mine out for some pictures tomorrow for you. Yes it's a he'll of a squirrel dove rabbit gun. EAA used to import a crappy Russian version of it look around the power of the interwebs should help you find one.

As previously said, Savage made their model 24 in a wide variety of cartridges and gauges... .22LR, .22 Mag, .222R, .223R, .30-30, .357M, .44M and maybe others plus .410, 20g and 12g.

I have a Savage 24 in .223R/12g.

Savage discontinued the model 24 years ago but is introducing a new model, the "42" in .22LR/.410 with plans on adding the .22 Mag and 20g later.

I had a Savage O/U in .22mag and 20ga. I never should have sold it. Great varmint getter.

Savage and H&R used to make that combination. I believe that neither makes that particular combo any more. Most of them are 22lr-20ga now. Check their sites and see.

I had a Savage .22/.410 when I hunted rabbit years ago. Great little gun. Like mentioned above, wish I never would have sold it. Very accurate.

Savage first started making the combo in 1939 as the Stevens Model 22-410 (I had one with the "Tenite" plactic stocks), so there's many millions floating around the used gun market - as are, IIRC, Baikal .22/410 combination guns (imported by EAA).

Savage still makes a combination gun today, as the Model 42, but IDK if it's available in .22/.410.

While H&R and Rossi claim to make a combination gun, they really don't have a true combination gun, which has both barrels mounted in the frame at the same time, with a selector to choose which bbl to fire.
Those two company's "combination" guns are two separate barrels, which interchange on the single-barrel frame.

There is also the Springfield Armory M6 Scout. I've got one of those and my son still shoots it all the time. It was the first .22 LR he was allowed to shoot "by himself" so he is still emotionally attached to it even though he is 14 now.

EEA has them in a number of different combinations. 12 gauge and 7.62x39, 30-06 and 22lr, 410 and 22lr, and the best part of their O/Us is they have two seperate triggers so you can fire either barrel at will. I've never shot one but they do seem like an interesting concept.
