What "new" guns are you buying this year ???

as a long time collector, & one who has gravitated to buying older guns, there are not many "new" guns I find a desire to buy, but I do try to buy at least one "new" gun each year, just to "keep me young"

... my new gun this year, I think is going to be a Kel Tek PMR-30... don't need it, don't really shoot much semi auto any more... just buying it because...

so what "new" gun are you buying this year, & what is the reason ???

Yesterday I picked a Glock 21 SF. I'm also looking for another G19 since my daughter wanted mine. And of course, you can't never have too many 1911's so I'm always looking for fair deal on one of those.

Funny you mention the Keltec PMR-30, it's been lurking in the back of my mind.

I am looking for a light lever action carbine in .38 and .357 for having when I am working outside.

When my wife asked me why, I told her it was because you can never be sure when you will be attacked by a cotton mouth, or a squad of wild pigs, or a meth dealer, or zombies out there while I was laboring to make the place nice for her and her girlfriends. Then I asked her why she bought another three pairs of shoes. She said because they were on sale.

I hear they have those 357's on sale right now

as for the PMR... I may have to got to Gunbroker... none of the local dealers are having any luck getting one... at least so far... so I haven't handled one yet...

last years "new" gun purchase was a Taurus TCP... 2 years ago a 5-Seven, 3 years ago a Ruger Alaskan in 454...

part of the reason for the thread is to see what's new that others want... may influence next years purchase ???

Assuming we're talking handguns - a 1911 of some sort probably lower end - RIA possibly. If funds are available, also M&P 40c. Depending on priorities at the time, these may be swapped, but if basing on "emotion" or want, the 1911. I can live with my older .40 for quite some time yet.

Well, that depends on what becomes available, and what I dispose of.

There is only one "new" gun that attracts my interest, the Colt New Frontier. Or maybe so the Ruger Flat Top .44 Special.

Bought a Bersa Thunder .380 a few months ago (my first 'little' gun) and I have my eyes on a CZ75B compact that I'm trying to get the money for. Poor dog needs knee surgery though and that isn't cheap (and a deer hit on my truck took the money from it a couple months ago). Always something! Hopefully by Thanksgiving I can get a new gun though.

I'd also love to get a Mini-14, but that will probably have to wait until next year. Maybe spring for that first trip to the outdoor range.

I was a one-gun-per-year guy, until I got married! I haven't bought a new gun since . . . 2005? I have an ATI Stg44 on order, but have no idea when it will arrive. Of course, I've had a Vltor Bren Ten on order for over two years, and have no idea IF that will arrive.

I've had an eye on the relatively new Sig 226 Mk25. It's military pedigree and Sig's outstanding reputation for reliability are the draws. Rod

I am looking at the Sig P238 and the Springfield XDs .45, though i am having a hard time justifying them as the ammo for both is rediculously expensive, i cant fathom spending $40+ to shoot 100 rounds.

Soooooo, im looking at the Sig P938 and when Springfield releases the XDs in 9mm(i called them, its coming), i will jump on one of those.

Yeah, Kimber makes everything in batches, so if you cant find one at the moment, you end up waiting like 6 to 8 months. Sometimes you get lucky and its less, and sometimes its more.

I bought Walther PPS earlier this year. It wasn't what I started out to buy but ended up being a happy discovery. So far, I'm very happy with the gun. It's reliable, accurate, easy to shoot and easy to conceal. It will also be my last purchase for a couple of years but I am okay with that.

This year, we saw the addition of a Sig P238 (rosewood grips with laser), Browning BuckMark Micro Bull, S&W M&P15 OR, Spike's Tactical AR and a Spike's Tactical AR Lower. I've about hit my limit for the year but I'm always open to something!

SP 100 or 101, haven’t decided.
New Ruger 1911, just because I want to see how well Ruger did. (But I still say Bill is rolling over in his grave.)

The only handgun that comes to mind is a S&W model 21 with a case hardened frame. If I could find one made without the lock in like new or excellent condition, I'd go for it.
I have a fondness for the look of case hardening.

This image is of a model 21 with the lock. Hard to find without the lock.

I don't really want anything....

But I purchased my first Freedom Arms single action revolver, large frame, 4 3/4" octagonal barrel in .357 mag late last yr...and I am considering another Freedom Arms ( basically the same gun ...in either .45 Colt or .44 mag )...

every time I shoot that new Freedom Arms...I'm amazed at the craftmanship...in that gun.
