CMP Ammo Order -Foiled by (stupid & Lazy) FedEX Driver

So I ordered some 30-06 ammo from CMP on July 31st and finally it shipped!
It was suppose to be delivered yesterday, (Aug 30 via FedEx) however that was not meant to be! Since it required a adult signature, my wife stayed home in the morning - I came back from work and stay home in the afternoon. FedEx didn't come in the morning and they didn't in the afternoon.
I called FedEx several times and they said the same thing; it's on the truck and it will be delivered.
About 7PM I called them since it was getting late and they told me the driver tired to deliver it but nobody was at home! Now get this; the driver just happened to not scan it nor did he leave a "missed delivery" note.
When FedEx told me that I exploded - big time! That FedEx driver is a lying, lazy SOB! Oh wait it gets better: Since it came via FedEx-ground, I wouldn't be able to get until Tuesday! I told them no thanks but I'll pick them up!
Now I had plan to go to the range on sat to test fire my new-acquired 1903a3but thanks to a lazy FedEx driver that didn't happen!
I have all emailed FedEx with a not-so-nice email and I plan to send a letter to FedEx corp headquarters on Tuesday. I hope that lying sack of crap driver gets canned! I had several gun deliveries to my home done via UPS and never had a problem!
Anyone had a similar problem with FedEx????

I deal with Fed-Ex on a daily basis, While I will not go into detail. I have no problem AT ALL beleiving your story. I have heard some real good ones in my 30 plus years of UPS,Fed-EX, ect,ect.

This was an "individual" problem w/ the driver, not FedEx in general. I have had
very good luck with them & firearms-related materials.

That said, the reqm't for an adult signature (with which I agree) can be an
inconvenient necessity. What I've done in the past is once notified that the item
is enroute, I call them w/ the tracking # and request it be held at the distr
center so I can personally pick it up.

Please don't go too nuclear on the company. They might just decide that the
firearms-related business is ...'just too much trouble' in these politically-charged days.

FedEx ground are all subcontractors. They are not actual FedEx employees

Does the distinction really matter, when they're driving around with FedEx on their vehicles and wearing FedEx clothing?

Shoddy work is shoddy work. Subcontractors can be dropped just as easily as employees can be fired/reprimanded. (sometimes even easier)

I've had FedEx and UPS drivers that have done exactly what DennisCA is describing (falsely claiming delivery or "no one home"), and drivers that thought lobbing fragile packages at my door, 30+ feet from the sidewalk, was acceptable behavior. It is not.

I have no sympathy for lazy deliverymen - be it a contractor or an employee.
If they're over-worked, they have the option of finding employment elsewhere.
If they're just lazy, the company needs to take care of the problem.

Dennis, I hope you get some satisfaction from FedEx. That said, I'm closing this, as it isn't really gun-related: this sort of problem can happen with the delivery of pretty much anything.
