CZ 2075 Rami vs Kahr CM9

OK, guys, I need some suggestions. I currently own a Kahr CM9 for concealed/back-up carry. While I have no objections to the gun at all, one of my primary carry pistols is a CZ-75BD, and have been thinking about switching to a CZ-2075 Rami. I know it is a bigger gun, and that some have said it is a chunky gun. Others have said that it is a sweet carrying gun, and that everyone should own one.

My question is this: should I trade/sell my Kahr CM9 to acquire a Rami? I love that my Kahr can be carried pocket, ankle, or IWB very easily. I do like the idea, however, of having my guns all on a somewhat similar platform.

FWIW, my other main carry pistol is a Beretta PX4 9mm. I also have a Beretta Tomcat that I use as a BUG for either weapon, and normally carry that pocket or ankle. Any opinions are great.

The alloy framed RAMI's are great carry guns. I prefer them over the Kahrs. Try to find one to shoot first, but it is a smaller CZ-75.

I had the Poly Rami. It was a good gun, I now have the CM9. While the Rami holds more rounds it is alot heavier and bigger. I also like the DA only over the DA/SA of the Rami. All my other guns are DA and wanted to stay with the same manual of arms. So I would think it is up to your preference.

Rami Pros
Holds more rounds
DA/SA if you prefer that.

Rami Cons
Heavy and bigger

There were problems with the 40 poly frames bulging. I'm not even sure if they offer the poly frames anymore - ARMOREDMAN should be along soon. He keeps a close track of the CZ line.

I liked my 9mm RAMI - it is about the same size a G26. I eventually decided on the Glock. I've never tinkered with a KAHR.

Seems to me that the px4 fits the same bill as the rami does, close to the same size and weight. Dump the two berreta's . Buy the rami if you think its needed , no use haveing two pistols the same size. Buy a small ultra light 380 to replace the tomcat for a real light 8 to 10oz pistol. Keep the cm9 .

I've never heard of a RAMI's slide or sights falling off, but have with the Kahrs.

CZ quality, CZ reliability, all part of the CZ legend!

What was the outcome of the "bulging" RAMI? Do they still sell the poly frames? My memory isn't what it used to be. I knew a CZ expert would be along sooner or later.

From my personal experience and years reading on various CZ related boards.

MOST RAMI Ps, in either 9mm or .40 version had some sort of frame bulge.

However, as bad as thay may sound, they are/were usually cosmetic in
nature and unlike the P-07 Duty (early run) pistols, no springs were protruding
or hampering the normal function of the gun.

My RAMI P had a minor bulge..you couldn't see it unless the slide was off
and you looked for it.

It didn't keep it from working 100%!

I'm no expert, just owned CZs for over 25 years now, and the RAMIs for
9 of them.

Unless there is a spring sticking out or tying up the gun in some way..
bulges are just something you have to live with.

The P-09s will be interesting in this regard.

Still, the P models were discontinued to make room for P-07 Duty
priduction ( I was told) and no doubt the P-09 duty and new SDP
Compact as well.

Things are really nice for CZ fans in 2013!

Thanks for the responses, so let me clarify a few things:

1) I'm a metal gun guy, and am not interested in the poly cz's. Just ain't right. If I get one, it will be metal.

2)The px4 is a full size handgun, and would in no way fit the same bill as the Rami. I bought it to see if I liked out, and now split my carry time between that and the cz75.

3) The Tomcat stays.

4) I've looked at glocks and m&p compacts, and just not feeling it. Not what I am looking for.

Then I would recommend the metal RAMI if it has features you like.

It was a good gun. Ran fine. I just got the Glock itch. Oh well!

I've had Glocks and M&Ps.

Still have my CZs.

The alloy framed RAMI model is a real sweetheart.

Mine has been ever faithful to me for 9 years now, and only has had fits
with ammo that also choked my Glocks.

I plan to retire mine next year at the 10 year mark with a RAMI BD.

If I can get my hands on a RAMI BD, I'd probably jump on it. I'm not a fan of the manual safety, and prefer decocker only models. Sigh... I may see what I can make happen...
