HP 38 / Mod 52-2 Wooooool!
If eye could count the years that I've been listening to gun writers, etc. tell me how to get good groups with my SW Mod 52-2, I would bee punch drunk.
After going over the classic load junk about bullseye etc., eye decided to go for broke. Picked up a can of HP 38 outta tha powder box that's at least 10 years old and said what tha heck. The load is tha top load from the "Complete Reloading Manual For The 38 Special" and tha load was tested inna Mod 52: 3.2 grains of HP38 Meisler 148 HBWC seated flush Taper crimped to .370 Cases trimed to provide consistant point of crimp 5 shot group @ 25 yards = .956 First 4 shots = .319 wi 5th shot opening group up to .956 Second 5 shot group 1.100 Only thing bad about this is having to stand there and meter each case. And before you tell me to try 231, I have and it shoots MUCH better than Bullseye but it cannot bee found anywhere in the Rochester, NY area. |
