Storing Weapon while at a match?

I was thinking about driving to MD with the family for a GSSF shoot and was wondering how most people secure their firearms at the hotel/motel. Where is a safe place to keep it when going to dinner and such? Was thinking about spending the night there.

Keep mine on my belt.......

...but you could keep them locked in your trunk.

belt or loaded on night stand!

in MD... in trunk while out and about if its illegal and your affraid of getting accosted.
