Used SKB
There are a couple of nice looking used SKB O/Us on gunbroker.com that are under $1K. I have two SKBs, but both are SxS doubles, one a model 100, and the other a model 200. Both are around 30 years old and still as tight as the day I got them. The M100 has taken down quite a few ducks and geese, and the M200 has had thousands of rounds through it at the trap range. Yes, I get a few disdainful looks when I step up to the firing line with a SxS -- but only until they post my scores. Like they say, practice makes perfect!
At any rate, I have a very high opinion of the Japanese-made SKBs. As good quality as anything else you're likely to find, and the prices on ones that are well taken care of just continue to go up. |

Where would someone find parts and/or gunsmith for a Penderson should they need them?
While I agree the Penderson looks goos and certainly is well within the price constraints. If you cant get it fixed at a reasonable cost it ain't worth having. Buy something "mainstream" and parts or gunsmiths are not a problem. |

Here's one good deal on gunbroker.com for a SKB O/U:
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=87770658 Asking price is $799. Search the site for SKB shotguns, and there are plenty for under $1K. SKB has been in business for 150yrs, and parts and gunsmithing are easy to come by. |

SKB O/U. You can get a new Model 505 for less than 1K with a little looking, or used for less. Can't go wrong.
