Ruger SR-22 pistol Decocker

I love my wife's Ruger SR-22 EXCEPT for one thing....

You can not have the pistol in "cocked and locked" due to the safety also being a de-cocker.

The single action trigger is very nice but pretty pointless because you have to pull the hammer back.

Is it possible to eliminate the de-cocker without compromising the "safety" of the safety?
