25-08?
I have been out of the reloading business for a few years am just now starting to get involved. While at the local gunshop I heard to young "experts" defining the best of every type of fire arm. I was just about to leave when they started talking about the 25-08. This was a cartidge that me and some buddies talked about back in the Nam years to compete with the 257 improved. As far as I know it has not been developed. Am I wrong (very possibly could be)? And if so does anyone have any specs and/or data on it? Thanx:

25 Souper
That wildcat has been around a long time. Simply a 308 necked to 25 caliber. It's on most die manufacturers lists as the 25 souper. Neat cartridge too!
Check P O Ackley's book for reloading info. |

Ackley tended to get over-enthusiastic so approach his loading data with extreme care.
The Souper is a bit smaller than the standard .257 Roberts. I'd reduce those starting loads by two grains and work up from there. |

Very similar to the .250 Savage, really.
The .250 was based on a necked down .300 Savage case, and the .308 case was developed from the .300 Savage.
