eBay has lots of them for sale right now, or you can go directly to www.JGsales.com. $39.99 if I recall correctly.

Gunparts lists new Triple K, 9 round, 9mm Star 'B' mags at $45.
A 9mm(also .38 Super) Largo mag isn't the same. Isn't a great picture on Gunparts site, but it looks like a different follower.

I believe the Star model B was originally chambered in the 9mm Largo, and later converted to 9mm Para to help increase sales. From what I understand the conversion basically involved using a different chamber reamer for 9mm Para. The magazines and all other components stayed the same. (maybe the recoil or mainspring was adjusted also for the different pressures of the round)

The result is that sometimes the magazines can cause problems with bullets jamming due to the large amount of play between the length of the bullets and the large magazine

Bs were not "converted" They were originally made in 9mmP. They are basically the same gun as the "A" in 9mm largo. The changes are barrel and magazine-which has shorter feed lips in 9mmP.

Only the very early magazines with a block inserted and the last of production with modified feed lips are different from the A magazines. I have a dozen Tripple K mags, at least half have shot the base plate into oblivion when loaded, are two wide to easily be inserted or miss feed because the follower/feed lips is not angled correctly (or some/all of the above).

Lots were 9mm Largo but Germany wanted them in 9mm P so they made many in the 9mm P. My Bs are 9mm P. I don't think they converted them they just made what people wanted to buy. What a concept, manufacturers today could learn a lesson there. All in all a shame Star went out of business.

PS - I've bought spare magazines off Ebay and they all work fine.

I'm CONFUSED

I also have a SUPER B. I understand that the Star Super B is not the same as a Star B. Am I correct?
What are the differences in magazines between the two mentioned pistols? Were they two different calibers?

The magazines with the removeable floorplate for "A & B" pistols will interchange with Super pistols.
