Remington 700 magnum action?
Hey all,
I have a Rem 700 ADL in 270. I would like to convert to 300 Win Mag. Aside from the barrel change and bolt head size, is there any dimension differences in the receiver between a standard long action and one that came standard with a magnum caliber? Thanks a lot. |

700 Rem.
Dear Shooter:
No, there should be no problem but you'll have to get a Rem. 700 magnum faced bolt! The head size of the Belted mag is about .535 ? Get a professional to do this. Harry B. |

In the long run it would probably just be cheaper and a lot less of a hassle to buy another ADL. They are such good guns it couldn't hurt to have two. If you do end up converting what kinda barrel are you gonna go with?? I'd definitely get whomever is going to do the work to put a Hart or Shilen barrel on there then that 300 will drive tacks.
