New Ljungman arrived
A new Ljungman arrived. Looks like it is exactly as described. Wood decent, metal nice, bore looks great.

Be careful with it, that bolt is a real meat-eater if you're not familiar with the operation...

Like above post stated it is a meat eater if not used right but a sweet gun and fun to shoot. Nice find, they are getting really hard to find these days.

I want one of these in the worst possible way. Every time I've gotten close to one, either something has queered the deal on my end or someone else snatched it out from under me at the last possible. I've had lots of shots at Hakims, but knowing that Ljungmann's exist out there makes it nearly impossible for me to settle for the Egyptian variant; there would be nothing cooler than a 6.5x55 autochucker...

When I worked in a gun store in Australia back in the 80s we sold a LOT of Ljungmanns. They were being imported by a company in Sydney who also brought in the Swedish Mausers. I'd hate to think what became of all those Ljunmanns we sold.....probably turned into manhole covers after the gun buyback!

Oh, man, when I think of the surplus rifle glut back when FOPA '86 opened the import floodgates... My local gun shoppe had a rack of Ljungmanns for, like, $125, and I bought a sporterized Long Branch No.4 instead because the ammo was cheaper (and the rifle was only $75...)

Shhheesh. They are probably 600+ from what I think I have seen, but I remember when I could have had them all day long for 250$ or less. Really nice ones. Now of course I kick myself. I probably was all drooling over carbines and Garands at the time and put my money into those sort of things. Now those Swedes are just out of my reach to buy a nice one.

I had a minty Hakim that I loved to shoot. Super accurate, and that muzzle blast was great. It was one of the easiest rifles to field strip too. I wish I still had it.
